The Patty Jewett Municipal Golf Course, Rick Gossage Youth Sports Center and a number of parks including Monument Valley Park, Antlers Park, and Confluence Park provide recreational opportunities in this area. Memorial Park is also a favorite site for swimming, tennis, ice skating, volleyball, football, baseball and soccer, and serves as host of the annual Labor Day weekend Balloon Classic. This Northend Historic District is made complete with the Pikes Peak Library, McAllister House Museum, Veterans Memorial and Fallen Fire Fighters Memorial.

Penrose Hospital and Memorial Hospital are also located in this community, providing its residents quick access to outstanding healthcare. Downtown Colorado Springs is located 60 miles from Denver, 40 miles from Pueblo and is just a 30-minute drive to the Colorado Springs Municipal Airport.
